Multidisciplinary research group comprised of 12 members (all doctors) encompassing Graduates in Physiotherapy, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and Medicine.

  • Research and promotion of health in special populations Study of static and dynamic balance, falls and quality of life
  • Prevention, rehabilitation and functional readaptation of injuries
  • Active and healthy ageing and comprehensive geriatric assessment
  • Sarcopenia and fragility in elderly population
  • Assessment of physical condition and its link to quality of life associated with health and performance
  • Manual physiotherapy in managing pain and musculoskeletal function in specific populations
  • Motor control and neuromuscular training in dealing with dysfunctions of the neuromusculoskeletal system
  • Quality of life and processing at central level of pain and postural information in fibromyalgia syndrome
  • Metabolic and molecular adaptations through physical exercise and nutrition
