HUM-942 Music and Cultural Studies

Coordinator: Dr. María Virginia Sánchez López (vsanchez [arroba] ujaen [punto] es)

We are a group of doctors researching music from the perspective of cultural studies, focusing our attention on the significances constructed by music and the practices associated to it. The team’s productivity and quality translate into numerous articles, book chapters, monographs, collective volumes and recordings, publications in Spanish and foreign high-impact journals and publishing houses as well as into digital projects. In addition to participating in expert forums, we are interested in transferring our research to society, a task accredited with around thirty OTRI contracts (Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados de Investigación, Research Results Transfer Office), high-dissemination conferences and presentations of unpublished music.
