RNM-118 Biology of game species and pests

Coordinator: Jesús María Pérez Jiménez (jperez [arroba] ujaen [punto] es)

The RNM-118 group (Biology of game species and pests) focuses its research efforts on monitoring and management of wildlife populations, particularly ungulates. Our approach is multidisciplinary, but places special emphasis in the following research lines:

  • Estimation of abundance
  • Biometrical and physiological analysis by means of non-invasive methods
  • Health surveillance (epidemiology of parasitosis)
  • Genetic characterization of both hosts and parasites

A secondary objective of the RNM-118 group is the study of the ecology of vectors of viruses and other parasites.
