The Archaeological Heritage in Jaén Research Group comprises 30 members (16 doctors) in the areas of Prehistory, Archaeology, Medieval History and Chemistry. It forms part of the University Institute for Research in Iberian Archaeology. It is currently the only group at Jaén University with the category of quality or excellence (28 points).
The sphere in which it renders its services is limited to the national, regional and local public administrations and companies directly or indirectly associated with the archaeological heritage, specifically the following:
