We live in an information-rich society where data plays a key role in decision-making. In this context, the statistical analysis of inclusion and diversity data is essential for organisations and institutions seeking to promote equity, fairness and representation, which are core values of the NEOLAiA pillars. Such analyses help identify disparities, uncover structural challenges (e.g. biased practices or underrepresentation), and generate evidence-based insights to inform policies and strategies.
The course “Data Analytics for Inclusion & Diversity” provides a practical training programme for Bachelor’s and Master’s students focused on the use of statistical techniques to analyse inclusion and diversity data. Students will work with real datasets using the statistical software R, perform basic analyses, interpret results, and effectively communicate findings, while critically assessing assumptions and limitations. The course also promotes intercultural competences, teamwork in multidisciplinary contexts, and greater awareness of inclusion and diversity.

No advanced prerequisites are required beyond basic mathematics and computing skills. The course is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students with sufficient English proficiency and an interest in data analysis and diversity-related issues.
