Requirements

Those who wish to apply for this scholarship must:

• Belong to the Talent Attraction Scholarship Programme for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in the academic year 2024/25 and/or earlier.
• Apply for the scholarship for the same studies for which the Talent scholarship was granted in the academic year 2024/25 and/or previous years. Exceptions to these cases are students who apply for a change of degree to other studies within the academic offer of the Talent Programme. These changes of degree must be justified and authorised by the Commission.

Under no circumstances will a renewal of the scholarship be granted for changes from a Bachelor's to a Master's degree.

• Pass 90% of the credits enrolled in the academic year 2024/25. This requirement will be verified at the end of the Ordinary Call II (June 2025) and again at the end of the Extraordinary Call II (July 2025).

The beneficiaries will renew the scholarship in the same modality for which it was initially assigned, except in the case of changes of modality approved by the Commission.

Description of the scholarships

Scholarships are offered in two modalities, consisting of:

TYPE A

• Coverage of 100% of the tuition fees for the credits required to pass the chosen programme. The tuition fees for a full academic year are 60 ECTS credits. If someone wishes to enrol for more credits per year, the additional cost will have to be paid by the interested party. Enrolments of less than 60 ECTS per year will not be accepted.
• Coverage of 100% of the costs of credit recognition for those students who request it.
• 100% coverage of administrative fees and school insurance.
• An economic amount of €2.390 per beneficiary per year for Bachelor's Degree; €3.190 per beneficiary per year for Master's Degree.
• Free Spanish courses in the case of non-Spanish-speaking students.
• In justified cases, other necessary expenses may be covered during the stay at the University of Jaén. These cases refer to
  situations that prevent the normal academic activities of the scholarship holder from being carried out. For example:
  • Exceptional displacements between University campuses.
  • Coverage of complementary credits.

TYPE B

• Coverage of 100% of the tuition fees for the credits required to pass the chosen programme. The tuition fees for a full academic year are 60 ECTS credits. If someone wishes to enrol for more credits per year, the additional cost will have to be paid by the interested party. Enrolments of less than 60 ECTS per year will not be accepted.
• 100% coverage of the cost of credit recognition for those students who request it.
• 100% coverage of administrative fees and school insurance.
• Free Spanish courses in the case of non-Spanish-speaking students.

Application

Applications will be submitted until June 15th, 2025 at 23:59 (Spanish time) through UNIVERSIDAD VIRTUAL (http://www.ujaen.es > Intranet > Universidad Virtual > Servicios académicos > Movilidad > UMOVE/ Renovación Talento 2025/26.

Along with the application form, the following documentation must be sent in electronic format (pdf):

• Non-Spanish-speaking students must provide proof of having successfully completed the Spanish courses or Level Accreditation (up to B2).

Granting of scholarships

The present call and its resolutions (provisional and definitive lists of beneficiaries) will be published on the UJA electronic notice board https://sede.ujaen.es/publico/tablon.

Partial resolutions of concession may be published from the end of the first deadline for the submission of applications (30th June 2025), for those candidates who meet the requirements of this call.

The provisional decision will be published by resolution of the Vice-rectorate for Internationalisation of the University of Jaén.

The beneficiaries of the scholarship will receive an individual communication at the e-mail address indicated in the application form.

Those who do not agree with the assessment given may submit a complaint within 5 working days of publication, through the Sede Electrónica, at the following link:

Once the period for lodging a complaint has elapsed and any possible claims have been resolved, the definitive list of beneficiaries will be published.

Any possible claims will be resolved and notified with the publication of the final list.

In the event that the degree selected by the applicant does not take place, enrolment in another degree will be facilitated.

Obligations of the beneficiaries

• Formalize, according to the procedure and the established regulatory deadlines, the corresponding enrollment at the University of Jaén 2025/26.
• Carry out all the necessary procedures to obtain the entry visa to Spain, renovation of TIE and, where appropriate, the legalization of all the necessary documentation to constitute your academic record.
• Register in person at the International Relations Office (Campus las Lagunillas Jaén or Campus Científico-Tecnológico de Linares), at the start of the academic year 25/26 with a deadline of 11th October 2025. Failure to register before 31st October 2025 will be considered as a rejection of the scholarship.

• Take out health insurance with the following coverage (A copy should be sent to talento [arroba] ujaen [punto] es):

  • Medical assistance. (Accident and serious illness insurance including temporary or permanent disability).

  • Death Insurance, including repatriation and/or medical transport of injured, sick and/or deceased insured persons.

  • Displacement of a family member in the event of hospitalisation or death.

  • Civil Liability (minimum 40.000 euros).

• It will be an essential requirement to receive financial aid to be residing in the cities of Jaén or Linares, except for those students who are beneficiaries of these scholarships who subsequently attend face-to-face mobility stays during any of the academic courses.

For future scholarship renovations in the following academic years, the following requirement will be taken into account:

• Non-Spanish-speaking students must present proof of having successfully completed the Spanish courses or Level Accreditation.

This requirement will be understood to be met by those who present accreditation of Level B2 in Spanish Language. In this case, it will not be necessary to present proof of having completed the Spanish courses.

Payment of scholarships

Once the enrolment and registration at the University of Jaén has been completed, as well as verification of the insurance policy with the coverage required in this call for applications, the following payment will be made as follows:

- First payment, amounting to 60% of the grant.
- Second payment, 40% of the aid will be paid from February 2026, once the student's attendance of the student at the exams at the I Ordinary Call has been verified.

In addition to the above, the beneficiaries of the scholarship will be exempt from the payment of the public prices for academic and administrative services for the credits in first enrolment (60 credits per course). If someone wishes to enrol for more credits per year, the additional cost will have to be paid by the person concerned.

Visa

The University of Jaén will provide the necessary support for the VISA process.

Reimbursement

The amounts received will be reimbursed, with the legally established interest for late payment, if applicable, in the following cases:

1. Obtaining the grant without meeting the conditions required for it, regardless of the moment at which it is detected that the candidate does not meet the required conditions.
2. Failure to comply with the purpose for which the grant was awarded.
3. Failure to comply with the obligation to provide justification.
4. Failure to comply with the obligations established in this call for applications.
5. Cancellation of enrolment in the academic year 2025/26, or return to the home country before the end of the academic year 2025/26.

Amounts awarded but not applied shall be returned to the budget of the University of Jaén.
