Summer School in Humanities and Social Sciences 1 (Digital Humanities)

  • Description:

The University of Jaén, through the NEOLAiA European University Alliance, offers 7 spots in this Summer School, where an interactive Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map will be developed. This map will enable the monitoring and comparison of social, cultural, and visual phenomena in Europe, such as gender and social inequalities, excluded communities, cultural exclusion, demolished monuments and visual objects, as well as places and communities that have disappeared or are at risk of disappearing.

Participants who complete both the in-person and online components and actively engage in discussions and workshops will earn 4 ECTS credits.

The course is free for students who secure a spot, and successful applicants will receive a scholarship under the Call for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), organized within the framework of the NEOLAiA European Universities Consortium by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization.
The course brochure can be found in the related documents section.

  • Dates:

- Online Component: 3 online sessions (February and April) and individual work (total: 16 hours).

- In-Person Component: June 2–13 (Ostrava, Czech Republic). The NEOLAiA office will automatically apply for the grant on behalf of the 7 students accepted into the course, expediting the process of obtaining financial support.
