What is IMFAHE?


The University of Jaén and the International Mentoring Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education (IMFAHE), together with around ten other European universities, form an innovation network that facilitates international interaction between outstanding lecturers and students and other international professionals, with the aim of enhancing educational excellence and multidisciplinary collaboration. The University of Jaén has been participating in the programmes launched by the International Mentoring Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education (IMFAHE) since the 2024/25 academic year.

The aim of the collaboration is to foster professional development and educational and research excellence within the university community, as well as to promote real-time global knowledge transfer, effective multidisciplinary collaborations, and to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation. To this end, the University of Jaén has joined the IMFAHE network, which promotes interaction between a select group of students and university lecturers and international professionals affiliated with world-class universities and organisations such as Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Google, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, the European Patent Office, IBM Research, Boston University, Johns Hopkins University, the NIH, Amazon Robotics and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, Karolinska Institutet, Repsol Canada, Amadeus, University of Virginia, University of Texas, University of Cambridge entre otros.

IMFAHE organises information sessions aimed at students and academic staff.

During this session, students will learn how to:

  • Work towards their career goals with an international mentor
  • Secure international placements (for example, at Harvard)
  • Develop highly sought-after skills for the future
  • Establish valuable connections worldwide
  • Become entrepreneurs and secure funding for their ideas
  • Present their work at the IMFAHE International Conference

During the session, academic staff will discover how to:

  • Establish global collaborations
  • Learn about international trends in education and research
  • Raise the profile of their research
  • Access global peer mentoring programmes
  • Secure funding for innovative ideas
  • Serve on the judging panel at the IMFAHE International Conference

The Informational Session for Students will be held on Wednesday, October 15th at 14:00h (Central European Time). Students must REGISTER HERE.

During the session, students will discover how to:

  • Work on their career goals with an international mentor
  • Win international internships (e.g., at Harvard)
  • Develop highly demanded skills for the future
  • Build valuable global connections
  • Become entrepreneurs and secure funding for their ideas
  • Present their work at IMFAHE’s International Conference

The Informational Session for Professors and Researchers will take place on Thursday, October 16th at 14:00h (Central European Time). Professors must REGISTER HERE.

During the session, they will discover how to:

  • Access global peer-mentoring programs
  • Obtain funding for innovative ideas
  • Serve as jury members at IMFAHE’s International Conference

  • IMFAHE Connects. Plataforma de comunicación online que conecta a profesionales internacionales europeos que trabajan en las principales organizaciones de los 5 continentes con los mejores estudiantes y profesores europeos de las universidades colaboradoras. Iniciativa para fomentar colaboraciones, la innovación y el desarrollo de competencias transversales de gran valor como la generación/desarrollo de ideas, trabajo en equipo, liderazgo, espíritu emprendedor y habilidades de comunicación.
  • IMFAHE Online Quarter Courses. Cursos intensivos online sobre “Desarrollo profesional”, “Innovación, emprendimiento y liderazgo” y “Carreras científicas”. Cursos muy prácticos al estilo de Harvard. Clases magistrales presentadas por expertos internacionales. Cursos certificados con créditos.
  • IMFAHE International Professional Development Program for Professors (IPDP). Programa que incluye webinars específicos para profesores sobre open-science, técnicas de enseñanza online y cómo financiar proyectos de investigación, entre otros y también actividades de networking como el Peer Mentoring Circles para propiciar colaboraciones con otros profesores y mentores internacionales. También incluye el IMFAHE-Spotlight para fomentar la divulgación científica y acercar las investigaciones a la sociedad.
  • IMFAHE Recruiting. Existen empresas interesadas en reclutar el talento dentro de la plataforma. Los recursos proporcionados por IMFAHE a los miembros de la red (formación, información, contactos, iniciativas que fomentan el desarrollo de habilidades altamente demandadas por las empresas) hacen que el perfil del talento en la plataforma sea muy competitivo y deseado en el mercado laboral.
  • IMFAHE Science 2.0. Investigadores internacionales de la plataforma presentan seminarios sobre los últimos descubrimientos científicos en las universidades colaboradoras, lo que fomenta la llegada temprana de las nuevas tendencias en ciencia.
  • IMFAHE´s International Conference. Campamento anual de innovación para promover redes efectivas, networking, colaboraciones e innovación.

IMFAHE Quarter Course on Professional Development

Quarter Course Professional Development - Comienzo 15 Oct. (30 horas). The International Mentoring Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education (IMFAHE), in collaboration with its partner universities, offers students access to top-quality online education. In today’s rapidly evolving and highly competitive global job market, students and young professionals must develop a broad set of professional skills to stand out as strong candidates. This course combines expert-led masterclasses with practical exercises to equip students with the essential skills they need to achieve their career goals.

IMFAHE Quarter Course on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership

Quarter Course on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership - Comienzo 14 Enero. (30 horas). This course brings together renowned international experts who will guide the students through key strategic concepts to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and impact-driven leaders. The course is open to all students at university and offers a 30-hour Certificate upon successful completion of the program.
