Action R.1.c. UJA Female Talent Projects

Objetive

The objective of encouraging projects led by female researchers in the university environment is to promote gender equity and leverage female talent and the unique perspective it brings to scientific and academic research. Despite advances in equal opportunity, women remain underrepresented in leadership roles across many academic and research fields. The aim is not only to correct this imbalance, but also to enrich the research landscape with a diversity of approaches and experiences, contributing to a more equitable and inspiring academic environment for future generations of female researchers.

Conditions

  • Requirements specified in both the general regulations and the official text of the corresponding call for applications.
  • Two-year project duration (maximum €10,000 per project).
  • Subject to budget availability, a maximum of two projects per field of knowledge will be funded.

Applicant Requirements

  • The Principal Investigator (PI) of the project must be a woman, and the research team must maintain gender parity.
  • Must be teaching and research staff (PDI) at the University of Jaén (UJA), hold a PhD, and have an active contractual relationship with UJA throughout the entire grant period.
  • Must not have any other external funding for the requested project.
  • Projects may have a PI and a Co-PI.

Research Team Member Requirements

  • Be teaching and research staff at the UJA holding a doctoral degree and having a contractual affiliation with the UJA throughout the entire period of the grant enjoyment.
  • For external staff, have authorization from their institution ensuring affiliation with it throughout the entire period of the grant enjoyment.
  • In the case of being members of the research team:
  • Be teaching and research staff at the UJA holding a doctoral degree and having a contractual affiliation with the UJA throughout the entire period of the grant enjoyment.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted via the University of Jaén's Electronic Secretariat (Sede Electrónica), attached with all documentation required in the call.

Evaluation Criteria

The official call will establish evaluation criteria based on the submitted project proposal, the feasibility of proposed activities, the competitive nature of the project, and the Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CVA) of the applicants.

Beneficiary Obligations

  • Execute the planned work program.
  • Submit a final project report to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer.
  • Mandatory requirement to apply for the project in competitive regional, national, or international calls held during the project's execution period and the following year.
  • Mandatory requirement to participate in scientific outreach activities related to the project focused on female talent and gender equality.
  • Fulfill all obligations outlined in both general regulations and the corresponding call for applications.
