Action C.3.d. Grants for Preventive Equipment Maintenance.

Objetive

The objective of these grants is to extend the service life, prevent breakdowns, and ensure the reliability of results for scientific-technical equipment used by research personnel at our University. The goal is to foster a culture of proactive maintenance by co-financing plans for servicing, technical cleaning, and the replacement of components subject to wear and tear.

Conditions

Grants are intended exclusively to cover expenses associated with preventive maintenance contracts or services for scientific equipment linked to ongoing research projects and/or Article 60 contracts. The equipment must be located in University of Jaén facilities. The grant will cover a maximum of 50% of the total service cost and will not cover repairs due to breakdown, functional upgrades, or software updates unrelated to hardware maintenance.

Applicant Requirements

  • Be the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project or team against which the equipment requiring maintenance was acquired or, where applicable, a member of said research project or team with express authorization from the Principal Investigator.
  • Meet the requirements established in the University's general regulations.

Application Submission

  • Official application form in accordance with the call, providing technical justification for the importance of preventive maintenance to ensure research continuity.
  • Detailed quote for the maintenance service, specifying the tasks to be performed (cleaning, lubrication, replacement of technical consumables, etc.).

Evaluation Criteria

Approval from the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer, evaluating the criticality of the equipment for the ongoing project and compliance with the established conditions.
