Action Int.2.a. Incentive for Promoting Participation in Platforms of International Scope

Objetives

This action is primarily aimed at promoting the participation of UJA research personnel in one of the so-called European Partnerships in Horizon Europe, whose main goal is to bring together different public and private stakeholders to address the most relevant European challenges through joint research and innovation initiatives.

Participation in platforms, alliances, forums, or similar partnerships is contemplated, provided that the impact of institutional participation for the University of Jaén is adequately justified.

This incentive consists of the partial or full payment of the annual subscription fee, as well as its renewal if requested.

Conditions

  • Those required both in the general rules and in the text of the corresponding call.
  • Unless duly justified, a maximum annual limit of €3,000 for the eligible amount and one platform per research group is established. For the initial application to join a platform, the payment of two annual fees is contemplated, unless the promoter expressly waives the renewal of the second annual fee. This waiver does not exempt the promoter from fulfilling the relevant obligations.
  • LThe application must have the approval of the head of the research group to which the applicant belongs, as well as be endorsed by at least one other research group from the University of Jaén.
  • Subject to prior authorization by the OFIPI management, funding one trip per year for the promoter of the initiative is contemplated, provided it is for annual meetings organized by the platform to which they are affiliated.
  • Applications for the renewal of the membership fee must be submitted no later than two months prior to the end of the corresponding annual period, except for the first renewal, which will be processed automatically, unless expressly waived by the promoter.

Applicant Requirements

Having served as a Principal Investigator within the last five years on a project (regional, national, or international) related to the topic of the requested platform.

Submission of Applications

Applications shall be submitted through the University of Jaén's Electronic Secretariat (Sede Electrónica), attaching the documentation required in the call.

Evaluation Criteria

Approval from the OFIPI management in accordance with the conditions established in the call.

Beneficiaries' Obligations

  • Dissemination Commitment: The applicant commits to making all information handled within the platform available to the OFIPI. Additionally, they commit to organizing at least one informative workshop per year at UJA to disseminate the activity carried out by the platform.
  • Project Submission Commitment: Beneficiaries are required to submit a consortium-based research project proposal to an international competitive R&D&I call within two years of joining the platform.

The above project application commitment remains in effect in the case of fee renewals, provided the applicant does not have an active international project awarded as a result of joining this platform.

  • Consequences of Non-Compliance:In the event of failing to submit the project as established, full reimbursement of the granted aid will be required.
