Objective

The purpose of this modality is to facilitate research stays for predoctoral researchers holding FPU contracts funded by the Ministry responsible for universities, through a partial advance of the funds associated with the mobility grants requested from the Ministry, while these applications are pending resolution.

The aim is to avoid delays or cancellations of research stays due strictly to administrative reasons, thereby ensuring the continuity of research training and the internationalization of doctoral theses developed at the University of Jaén.

Conditions

• Requirements specified in both the general regulations and the call text.
• The advance will be temporary and reimbursable, contingent upon the final award of the mobility grant requested from the Ministry under the FPU contract.
• The advance amount will cover a portion of the budget requested from the Ministry for the stay (travel, accommodation, and subsistence), within the maximum limits set in the call.
• The stay must take place at a national or international research center in accordance with the regulatory bases of the FPU program and must be directly linked to the doctoral thesis.
• The advance will be granted exclusively when the applicant proves that the Ministry's resolution has not been issued within a timeframe compatible with the scheduled start of the stay.
• Under no circumstances will this advance constitute additional funding; it is an advance of funds that must be settled once the ministerial grant is awarded.

Applicant Requirements

• Hold an active FPU contract affiliated with the University of Jaén.
• Have formally applied for the research stay grant provided under the corresponding FPU program, with the application currently pending resolution.
• Hold official acceptance from the host center and approval from the thesis supervisor(s).
• Expressly commit to reimbursing the advanced amount in the event of an unfavorable resolution or subsequent incompatibility.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted via the Electronic Office (Sede Electrónica) of the University of Jaén, attaching the documentation specified in the call, which must include at least:

• Proof that the resolution is pending.
• Acceptance letter from the host center.
• Work plan for the stay.
• Signed commitment to reimburse the advance, under the terms established.
• The call for applications may remain continuously open, subject to budget availability.

Evaluation Criteria

• Relevance of the stay to the doctoral thesis and the FPU program.
• Quality and prestige of the host center.
• Time viability of the stay and justification for the urgency of the advance.
• Budget availability.

Beneficiary Obligations

• Complete the stay under the authorized conditions and at the designated destination.
• Submit the Ministry's final resolution as soon as it is notified.
• Settle the advance financially once the ministerial grant is received, or make a full reimbursement if the application is rejected.
• Submit an activity report upon completion of the stay.
• Submit financial proof of expenses incurred, in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Comply with all obligations deriving from general regulations and the specific call for applications.
