Action R.2.a (Modality 3) Postdoctoral Bridge Contracts

Objetive

To promote the retention at the University of Jaén of research personnel who have completed their predoctoral stage, facilitating their access to postdoctoral training and excellence programs. The aim of this modality is, on the one hand, to hire applicants whose CVs are competitive in regional, national, or international calls for postdoctoral researchers and, on the other hand, to foster greater involvement of departments and research teams in funding the hiring of applicants through a co-financing model for a period between six and twelve months.

Conditions

  • Applications should preferably be submitted before the end of the predoctoral stage. However, applications submitted after the end of said contract will be considered in duly justified circumstances, up to a maximum period of three months following the end of the applicant's predoctoral stage.
  • The cost of the bridge contract must be co-funded: 50% by the research team to which the person responsible for the contract is attached, and 50% by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer. However, for the fields of Social and Legal Sciences, and Humanities and Educational Sciences, the research team will fund 25% of the cost, with the remaining 75% funded by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer.
  • Beneficiaries of the contract may be assigned up to a maximum of six credits in the teaching activities of their affiliated Department.

Applicant Requirements

  • Recent PhD graduates (or individuals whose PhD thesis has been submitted and approved for defense). Eligible only under the International Doctorate modality or joint supervision (co-tutelle) with the University of Jaén.
  • Applicants must possess relevant research outcomes. These will include, among others, the criteria evaluated by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI) for research period evaluations (sexenios) in the applicant's field of knowledge.
  • Compliance with all requirements set forth in both general regulations and the official call for applications.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Office (Sede Electrónica) of the University of Jaén, attaching the documentation required in the call.

Obligations of Beneficiaries

  • Beneficiaries are required to apply for all public calls for postdoctoral contracts published at the regional, national, or international level during the tenure of the bridge contract.
  • Submit a Scientific Activity Report upon completion of the contract detailing the results of the research conducted.
  • Comply with all obligations set forth in both general regulations and the official call for applications.
