Action T.1.a. Proofs of Concept and Prototypes

Objetives

To fund and support the development of proof of concepts and prototypes to validate new ideas and emerging technologies in order to achieve a higher TRL (Technology Readiness Level). The purpose of this call is to promote and accelerate the transfer of results generated in research projects—whether ongoing or recently completed, regardless of the funding body—as well as their exploitation as products, goods, applications, or benefits for the economy, society, culture, or public policy; to foster a culture of transfer and an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among research teams, and to contribute to strengthening the knowledge and results transfer strategies of the beneficiary institutions of said projects. Proof-of-concept projects will aim to valorize the knowledge and results of research projects by carrying out additional activities to confirm their innovative potential and facilitate their transfer. These projects cannot be oriented toward continuing the research of the previous project; therefore, activities must focus on progressing through the early stages of pre-competitive development.

Proposals may be submitted at different Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), provided they align with the targeted nature of the action's objectives.

  • Proposals must outline an implementation plan detailing the initial stages of results valorization and pre-competitive development that facilitate their practical application. These include, among others, the protection of generated knowledge, technical, commercial, or social viability analyses, the development of technological prototypes, pilot-scale scaling, testing with end users, business model definition, or the early stages of company creation.

Applicant Requirements
