Objetives
To promote knowledge transfer through a two-phase itinerary designed to connect UJA's research capabilities with the real needs of the social and productive sectors:
1. Competition Phase: Identify and solve challenges posed by companies, public administrations, and third-sector organizations through innovative solutions proposed by UJA research teams.
2. Launchpad Phase: Support the preparation and submission of joint R&D&i project proposals to competitive calls for proposals (regional, national, or international), based on the winning solutions from the previous phase.
Conditions
Publication of Challenges: The demands of the entities will be published anonymously on the OTRI website. Research teams will submit their technical or social solution proposals under acronyms. Each research team may participate in a maximum of two challenges per academic year.
Launchpad Itinerary: Teams whose solutions are selected by the requesting entities will advance to the Launchpad phase. During the following two years, they may request financial support for the preparation of collaborative project proposals through Action T.1.d. Grant for the submission of R&D&i projects with Companies, Public Administrations, and Third-Sector Organizations.
The resulting projects must be original, based on the awarded solution, and not have been previously submitted to other calls for proposals.
The maximum grant amount is subject to the limit set out below in Action T.1.d. Grant for the submission of R&D&i projects with Companies, Public Administrations, and Third-Sector Organizations.
Applicant Requirements
Those established both in the general rules and in the text of the call for proposals.
In the Launchpad Phase, the Principal Investigator (PI) must have been a member of the team that proposed the winning solution in the Competition Phase.
Formalization of Applications
Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Office of the University of Jaén, attaching the required documentation specified in the call. For the Launchpad phase, a "Roadmap" detailing the preparation activities and the targeted call for proposals will be required.
Evaluation Criteria
In the Competition phase, the proposing entity selects the winning solution. In the Launchpad phase, applications—once approved by the OTRI directorate—will be evaluated in accordance with the call, and the final amount will be determined by the Research Commission after reviewing the observations and submitted documentation.
Beneficiary Obligations
Competition Phase: Winners commit to activating the Launchpad phase to turn the solution into a real-world project with the proposing entity.
Launchpad Phase: The winning team commits to submitting the project to the designated call for proposals within the following two years. Once the project is submitted to the selected call, and within three months, the team must provide:
- A Justification Report in accordance with the call.
- Obligations established both in the general rules and in the text of the call.
