Work package 4: Opportunities for increasing the Mediterranean olive oil value chains through by-products valorisation

Description of work

This WP will be focused on giving effective recommendations for estimating the benefits of introducing valorisation technologies into the olive oil value chain. Thus, within this task, the “base cases” that were assessed in WP3, using the LCA and LCC methodologies will be compared with the introduction of the systems of the proposed innovation technologies. Datasets generated in WP2 will be used for conducting the assessment. The results of this assessment will provide benchmarks that may be used by producers to measure their products against the average values of the region and/or the technology archetype.

Task 4.1 Perform a comparative LCA and LCC, evaluating the three base cases selected with the valorisation technologies selected.
