Welcome Days (first-semester students) – September 2026

You are now a UJA student, and we would like to welcome you!

Dear international students,

The University of Jaén warmly welcomes all new international students participating in mobility programmes who have just arrived in Jaén.

In order to simplify the adaptation process and make these first few weeks easier, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Internationalisation has organised a series of welcome days with various activities. These sessions are designed to provide basic and useful information, introduce you to your new city and help you settle in during these first few weeks.

WELCOME DAYS (14/09/2026 – 18/09/2026)
Provisional programme

Monday 14 – Reception for international students – Jaén Campus

  • 9:30-10:00 - Venue: Aula Magna (building C1)

Welcome by the Rector of the University of Jaén.

Welcome by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation.

** Compulsory attendance for all international exchange and Talent students.

  • 10:00- 11:30 Technical conference (Parallel sessions in Spanish and English). Venue: Salón de Grados A3 (Spanish)

Aula Magna (English)

  1. 10:00 - 10:30. Presentation by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation.
  2. 10:30– 11:00 Presentation of the International Relations and Cooperation Service.
  3. 11:00- 11:20 Presentation by the Centre for Advanced Studies in Modern Languages (CEALM).
  4. 11:20- 11:30 Presentation of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
  5. 11:30 - 11:45 Closing session.

** Compulsory attendance for all international exchange students.

**Student bus service for students from Linares campus: departs from the Linares Campus at 8.15 am and returns from the Jaén Campus at 5.00 pm

Tuesday 15 – Jaén

  • 10:00-13:00
  1. Jaén Ambassadors Event at Jaén City Hall. Venue: Darymelia Theatre, C. Colón, s/n, 23001 Jaén
  2. Churros and Chocolate breakfast
  3. Reception at the Provincial Council of Jaén (to be confirmed)
  4. Guided tour of the Provincial Palace (to be confirmed)

LINARES SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS: ACTIVITIES

10:00-11:00 International Mobility Welcome Session: Key Information for Your Stay: Welcome session for international students including a speed friending activity, informal coffee meet-up, opportunities to practice different languages, and information about learning Spanish during your stay at the university.

Venue: Aula Magna (Linares)

11:00-13:00 Coffee with Buddies. Venue: Cafeteria. Linares Science and Technology Campus.

Monday 28 - Bonded by Sports

16 h./ 18 h./ 20 h. Group Activity: Sport Challenges

Venue: University of Jaén Sports Centre, Carr. de Madrid, s/n, 23009 Jaé
