Objetive
The primary objective of this action is to strengthen the research capacity of the University of Jaén by hiring post-doctoral researchers of excellence across all fields of knowledge. Specifically, it aims to:
- Attract and retain young, highly qualified research talent.
- Consolidate and expand the university's existing lines of research.
- Promote interdisciplinary work and collaboration among research teams.
- Contribute to achieving the university's strategic research goals.
Conditions
- Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, according to the evaluation criteria established in the call. The maximum amount per grant covers researcher employment costs (salary, social security, etc.).
- Contracts have an initial duration of three years, renewable annually up to a maximum of six years, subject to budget availability and performance evaluation.
- Applications must be linked to research projects under the conditions set in the call and endorsed by a tutor (the project's Principal Investigator).
- A single research project can only receive one contract under this scheme during its lifespan.
- The number of annual postdoctoral contracts is subject to budgetary availability for the corresponding fiscal year.
- This hiring modality is not included in the current Research Personnel Stabilization Plan.
Access Options:
Option A
Open to applicants who previously applied to postdoctoral calls such as Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva, Beatriz Galindo, Emergia, Marie S. Curie IF, or similar future programs, and obtained a score of at least 70% of the maximum points without being awarded the grant.
The call will specify the scoring scale and weighting.
Option B
If vacant positions remain after evaluating Option A, applicants who did not participate in the aforementioned calls may apply provided their Curriculum Vitae meets the requirements and is deemed competitive by the Research Committee.
Applicant Requirements
- Option A: Proof of an official evaluation report from one of the listed postdoctoral calls with a score exceeding 70% of the maximum possible mark.
- General regulations and specific call requirements must be fulfilled.
Application Submission
Applications must be submitted electronically via the University of Jaén’s Sede Electrónica, including all documentation requested in the call.
Evaluation Criteria
- For applications applying under Option A:
- Applied weighting (defined in the call) to the score obtained in the candidate's previous application.
- Curriculum Vitae Abreviado (CVA) will be used as a tie-breaker if necessary.
- For applications applying under Option B:
- Assessment of the CVA and required supporting documentation.
Beneficiary Obligations
- Apply for regional, national, or international postdoctoral talent attraction calls during their tenure to continue their research career at the University of Jaén.
- Submit competitive research project proposals (regional, national, or international) as Principal Investigator (PI) in calls published after their contract start date. If awarded, the contract will be extended until the project ends to maintain the university affiliation.
- Participate in research dissemination activities.
- Non-compliance with these requirements will result in automatic contract termination.
- Those required both in the general regulations and in the text of the corresponding call.
