Objetive

The objective of encouraging projects led by women in the university setting is to promote gender equity and leverage female talent and the unique perspective it can bring to scientific and academic research. Despite progress in equal opportunities, women remain underrepresented in leadership roles across many academic and research fields. The goal is not only to correct this imbalance, but also to enrich the research landscape with a diversity of approaches and experiences, contributing to a more equitable and motivating academic environment for future generations of female researchers.

Conditions

  • Those required both by the general regulations and by the text of the corresponding call.
  • Projects lasting two years (maximum of €10,000 per project).
  • Subject to budget availability, a maximum of two projects will be funded per field of knowledge.

Applicant Requirements

  • The Principal Investigator (PI) of the project must be female, and the research team must maintain gender parity.
  • Be a member of the teaching and research staff (PDI) at UJA holding a doctoral degree, with a contractual tie to UJA for the entire duration of the grant.
  • Have no other funding for the requested project.
  • Projects may have a PI and a co-PI.

In the case of research team members:

  • For external staff, provide authorization from their institution guaranteeing their contractual tie to it for the entire duration of the grant.

Submission of Applications

Applications must be submitted via the Electronic Office (Sede Electrónica) of the University of Jaén, attaching the required documentation as specified in the call.

Evaluation Criteria

The call will establish the evaluation criteria, which will take into account the proposed project proposal, the feasibility of the planned activities, the competitiveness of the project, and the standard normalized CV (CVA) of the applicants.

Beneficiary Obligations

  • Execute the planned work plan.
  • Submit a final project report to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer.
  • Obligation to apply for funding for the project in regional, national, or international competitive calls issued during the project's duration and the following year.
  • Obligation to carry out scientific outreach related to the project in the field of female talent and gender equality.
