Description

The attraction of international talent has become one of the key elements of internationalisation at the University of Jaén, especially since the launch in the 2016/2017 academic year of the international talent attraction scholarship programme for undergraduate and postgraduate studies which, together with other similar programmes (Women for Africa, Refugees, Kazakhstan) makes it possible, each academic year, to attract more than 120 students with high academic performance to the University of Jaén.

The Talent Attraction Scholarship Programme (Bachelor and Master) of the University of Jaén consists of annual grants for the selected students and incorporates various advantages such as:

  • Scholarships
  • Exemption from tuition fees
  • Insurance
  • Free Spanish courses

In addition, the selected students can opt for complementary financial aid implemented in collaboration with collaborating entities of the University of Jaén (Banco Santander, Linares City Council) and have personalised technical assistance in the administrative processes, provided by the Welcome Center and the International Relations Office, as well as access to a Buddy student.

Refugee Student Program

The University of Jaén is sensitive to the current situation of countries and areas in conflict in various parts of the world with millions of displaced persons, refugees and/or asylum seekers, which has meant that a considerable number of adults have seen their university studies cut short as a form of personal and professional development. Aware of this, the University of Jaén launches its annual aid programme for international university students who are refugees or asylum seekers in a high-risk situation due to their belonging to religious, ethnic, political or social minorities or because of their gender preference or identity.

The Refugee Student Aid programme is announced on an annual basis. You can consult the different calls for applications and requirements here:

The University of Jaén actively promotes the attraction of international students and the exchange of students with other partner institutions in the rest of the world, and participates in different international mobility programmes with economic opportunities for students who want to come to the UJA.

The Erasmus+ KA171 programme seeks to promote internationalisation and strengthen educational and training capacities, as well as to improve the employability of students and teaching staff outside the European Union. To this end, the University of Jaén offers Erasmus+ KA171 grants for academic mobility in non-associated third countries (non-EU) with which Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Agreements have been established. Each call will include detailed information about the participating countries and institutions, the duration of the stays and the amount of the grants.
